Inter Milan confirm intention to beat Liverpool to huge signing

Ezequiel LavezziLiverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are concerned ahead of the January transfer window, after hearing that a top European side has joined the hunt for a prime target.

TalkSport state Inter Milan have confirmed interest in Paris Saint-Germain’s Ezequiel Lavezzi, whilst stating Arsenal and Liverpool are also contemplating swoops for the Argentine international.

The 30-year-old is tipped to be on the move in 2016 and it appears Inter are desperate for his services, as sporting director Piero Ausilio told Gazzetta Dello Sport:

“This summer we tried to sign him. We were looking for an attacker but we finally went for Adem Ljajic. There was little chance to sign Lavezzi, he wanted Champions League football.”

“It was a very expensive looking transfer, we will see what will happen.”

Lavezzi’ signature is likely to be fiercely contested and due to the vast interest his price-tag could soar. Liverpool may find similar issues to Inter if they swoop, with the lack of Champions League football, but both clubs hope to change that this season.
