Arsenal and Everton are having differing seasons it could be said this term, with the Gunners challenging for the top four while Everton struggle to make a run at a European place.
This coming summer will be a big chance for both managers to re-assess their squads and make improvements to their ranks, with both Unai Emery and Marco Silva bound to be already drawing up a list of potential targets.
And one man who has been linked with a move to both clubs this weekend is Ajax winger David Neres, who has been in fine form for the Dutch giants this season.
Neres looks to be the next in a long line of impressive young Brazilian talents to make their name in the Dutch league before sealing a move elsewhere, and Neres would be a superb capture for the Gunners or the Toffees if they can indeed convince Ajax to sell.
Capped already by his nation thanks to his fine showings in Europe, Neres looks to have all the tools to go and be a success at any of the top clubs around Europe.
A player blessed with excellent pace and trickery and capable of turning a game on it’s head, he’d be perfect for either of the interested parties.
Arsenal could do with someone like Neres on the wing, someone who is going to be direct and beat players with ease. For Everton, they will see the success that Richarlison has had with the club and see Neres as the ideal player to come in and have a similar impact.
Neres is quality, and if he does sign, the Premier League will be getting another exciting talent for it’s viewers to watch week in week out.
