Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are raising a glass in celebration after comments from an international ace suggested the Gunners have completed their second summer signing.
Nigerian youngster Kelechi Nwakali confirmed on his Twitter page that he has finally completed a transfer to north London, having seen a proposed deal drag on since January.
The 18-year-old rose to fame with Nigeria’s U17 side last summer, during the U19 World Cup held in Chile, where the African nation capped off a tremendous campaign by emerging as champions.
Arsenal were immediately linked with interest in Nwakali, and his international colleague Samuel Chukwueze, and the confirmation from the former seems to be pretty solid to suggest that he has indeed completed his switch to the Emirates.
Although not likely to provide an immediate boost to Arsenal’s first-team, it does bolster their already excelling youth ranks and the hope will be that Nwakali follows in the footsteps of compatriot Alex Iwobi, who rose into prominence last season.
