Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are debating what the best course of action is for one disappointing member of their squad, having heard he’s set for crunch-talks on his future.
The Daily Express quote Germany boss Joachim Lowe as stating Bastian Schweinsteiger will hold crunch-talks with new Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho after Euro 2016, following a disappointing maiden campaign in the Premier League.
Schweinsteiger was a big addition to the Red Devils ranks last summer but struggled to make an impact in Louis Van Gaal’s side and could find himself axed by Mourinho, who’s expected to make a host of changes to the Red Devils squad this summer.
Whilst staying away from getting into a transfer debate, Germany boss Lowe revealed he expects the situation to be clarified soon:
“I prefer to get my information straight from the horse’s mouth. Bastian and I exchanged thoughts about several things in the past few days, but we talked about his position and his fitness. ”
“We had no room for transfers in those talks. At this point, it does not interest me. Bastian will clarify his situation with his new coach after the European Championships. To me, he appears to be very relaxed.”
Our landlord believes Schweinsteiger still has a lot to offer the Red Devils, so he’s urged United not to cut their ties just yet.
