International manager in pole position to land Everton manager’s job (Not Joachim Löw)

Martin O'NeillmlsThe Everton fans who are gathered around the dartboard in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports that a new favourite has emerged to manage the club next season.

The Liverpool Echo is reporting that Martin O’Neill is the bookies new favourite to land the top job at Goodison Park next season.

It has been a season of unrest at Goodison Park this season with the side majorly underperforming this season, it has forced the fans to protest against current manager Roberto Martinez.

Former Everton player Kevin Kilbane is not surprised to see O’Neill at the top of the club’s wanted list, he said: “Any chairman, board member or chief executives who spend time in his company, you’re charmed by him, aren’t you?

“He has that way about him. He’s enigmatic, he captivates you when he speaks to you. He is probably appealing to a number of clubs.

“It’s surprising that nothing’s been said [by the club] since that FA Cup semi-final defeat. Nobody’s come out in support of Martínez so, reading between the lines, it looks like something might be on the horizon.”

The Everton fans in The Tavern would be delighted to land O’Neill as manager and he would be an ideal for the club to move on next season.

Our landlord has to agree with the Toffees faithful here inside the Football Transfer Tavern, and feels O’Neill’s experience would be pivotal for the Merseyside club going forward.

Everton fans…. Would Martin O’Neill be a good replacement for Martinez? Has he got the pedigree to take the job? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
