International manager lined-up to replace Mourinho at Chelsea

ConteChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have assembled on a weekly basis as they wait for the axe to swing upon manager Jose Mourinho and it now seems the saga is drawing a close.

An eighth defeat of the Premier League season, this time against fellow struggles Bournemouth, has left Chelsea just two points above the relegation zone heading into the festive season.

The Daily Star says Roman Abramovich has identified a new prime-target to replace Mourinho in the form of Italy boss Antonio Conte.

Conte, formerly boss of Serie A giants Juventus, will lead Italy to the European Championships next summer but will then consider his future- with it stated he’s extremely open to managing in the Premier League.

The pendulum could swing on Mourinho this week, should they lose to Porto tomorrow and fail to qualify for the knock-out stages of the Champions League, with the Blues already suffering ten defeats across all competitions this season.

It’s a stark contrast to the Chelsea side that stormed to the Premier League title next season and, in their current relegation form, it appears there is no way back for Mourinho’s Blues.

Chelsea fans, should Mourinho be sacked regardless of the next two results? Let us know in the comments below!
