International midfielder ‘agrees terms’ with Arsenal ahead of summer move

Granit XhakaGranit XhakaArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have had a difficult few months but they enjoyed themselves in the bar last night as Alexis Sanchez inspired them to victory over West Brom- and they’ve now been given further reason to celebrate.

Bleacher Report suggest a move for prime midfield target Granit Xhaka is all but complete, with the Swiss international agreeing personal terms with Arsenal ahead of a huge transfer this summer.

Arsenal have eyed the Borussia Monchengladbach ace all season and are keen to tie-up a deal swiftly, as their midfield ranks have looked bare at times this season and the squad is preparing for the losses of experienced trio Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky this summer.

The Gunners now look to be in pole position to sign Xhaka, with a fee that could be as high as £34m, and that price would see the 23-yar-old become the third most expensive signing in Arsenal history behind only Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.

Our landlord believes that despite all the criticism directed towards Arsene Wenger, he’s showing improvements in the transfer market as he’s made three quality signings in the past three seasons.
