Is £35M An Unreasonable Amount Of Money For A Real Madrid Hit Man?

Reports across National Media today are suggesting Chelsea are ready to swoop for Real Madrid’s £35m rated Argentine Gonzalo Higuain.

They report Chelsea are preparing to improve their attacking options with star man Didier Drogba set to leave on a free this summer.

Higuain is top of Roman Abramovich’s wish list – and we all know that he gets who he wants, Andriy Shevchenko for instance – and he is willing to match Madrid’s £35m asking price.

An apparent Chelsea source is quoted in The Sun – So you all know its a creditable and reliable source – as saying:

“Higuain is top of the shopping list.He has a phenomenal goalscoring record for Real and for Argentina but he helps make lots of goals too. He would be perfect for us, the sort of player who would thrive in the Premier League.”

The Argentine striker does boast an impressive record with 25 goals and 8 assists this season for Real. During his three years in Spain he has scored an impressive 102 goals in 217 games with 35 assists.

He has a proven pedigree of scoring goals for both club and country and would be a nice addition to the Chelsea squad. £35m isn’t an unreasonable amount of money considering he is still only 24.

The Sun also claim Real are keen to push through a deal as they prepare to use the Higuain money to acquire his Argentina team-mate Sergio Aguero from Manchester City.
