Tottenham are set to battle it our against Juventus for 26 year old Dieumerci Mbokani, the Anderlecht striker who has also been linked to a move to Fulham.
Mbokani has played for the Wolfsburg, Standard Liege and Monaco and has impressed with his game to goal ratio. At Standard he scored 35 times in 81 games, and so far at Anderlecht he has scored 15 times in 30 appearances for the club.
The striker is thought to be a available for only £5 million and has been likened to Didier Drogba with his big physique and clinical finishing.
But could he be a successful signing for Juventus or Spurs?
Considering both sides have made successful summer signings to strengthen their attack, it would be hard for Mbokani to fit into the European sides considering the fact the striker would not have the opportunity to play regular football.
Especially considering that Mbokani has not had the opportunity to play for the highly reputable leagues in England or Italy, it will take time which neither club would be able to offer the forward if he is to succeed in the two leagues.
As well as this, Tottenham’s main two forwards are Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe, who are both very prolific and able players. But with Clint Dempsey being available as a third choice in case the other two are unavailable to play, it means that there would be no need for Mbokani to make any appearances outside of the UEFA Cup or Premier League.
But would you like to see Mbokani join the Premier League, or are there more worthy targets?
