‘Is that a deposit?’ – Plenty of Everton fans mock reported transfer development

A summer clear-out is expected at Goodison Park during this transfer window with many of Everton’s recent signings having failed to produce the goods.

However, one player that is expected to stay at the Merseyside club is Ademola Lookman, who is valued at £10.8m by Transfermarkt.

According to the Daily Mirror, Everton have rejected a £12m offer from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig for the 20-year-old’s services.

Lookman spent the second half of last season out on loan at Leipzig, scoring five goals and providing three assists in 11 league appearances.

Ultimately, Lookman impressed during his short stint in the Bundesliga, so Leipzig’s attempt to sign the forward comes as no surprise.

Everton, though, have made the right move in knocking back the German club’s advances. Lookman, undoubtedly, still has much to offer and would really boost the Toffees’ forward line with his pace, directness and overall strong wing play.

Have a look at what Everton supporters have had to say on Leipzig’s alleged bid for Lookman below…
