The Man United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern always knew he would find Jose Mourinho’s arrival difficult…
It’s been a difficult for years for Man Utd midfielder Juan Mata…
After becoming Chelsea’s most important player in the two years following his arrival, Mata was unceremoniously sold to Man Utd by Jose Mourinho in January 2014 after falling out of favour with the Portuguese boss.
However, in a cruel turn of events for Mata – Mourinho would later find himself as the Man Utd manager and with Mata at his disposal once again.
Everyone in the Football Transfer Tavern had expected Mata to leave the club this summer, but the Spaniard chose to stick it out under Mourinho – and thus far has had a mixed start to the season.
With his Man Utd future looking increasingly uncertain, it would appear that Mata is setting up a contingency plan, and has his sights set on a possible new career…
Whilst the news has come out of the blue for many in the Football Transfer Tavern, Mata’s plans do fall in line with his character.
He is an avid writer and has his own weekly blog that thousands of fans view each and every week. He also comes across as a lot more intelligent than the average footballer, spending his free time exploring his local city and experiencing local culture.
We can already see the poems now…
Mourinho has lost it,
He’s benched me again,
No game time since August,
Can I go back to Chelsea again?
Is Mata set to ditch his footballing career for a job in poetry? Probably not, but it is interesting to note that the Spaniard is pursuing options outside of football.
The Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have already confirmed that they’ll give the books a read, with fans of the London side still holding Juan Mata close to their heart after his exploits in a Chelsea shirt.
