It’s fair to say Manchester United attracted most of the attention over the course of the summer transfer window.
Chief executive Ed Woodward went into the summer under more pressure than Sam Allardyce and Alan Pardew combined, following a disastrous window 12 months previously, when poor old David Moyes could only manage to sign an over-priced Maraoune Fellaini!
Woodward has turned things around this time however, by bringing in several recognised world class talents and a manager who classes himself as one of the very best.
There were plenty of departures from Old Trafford as well with Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra and Ryan Giggs drawing their illustrious United careers to a close.
Whilst defensively United look somewhat short, the business done to improve the attacking part of the team is enough to get even the most cynical of football fans excited.
With the likes of Angel Di Maria, Marcos Rojo, Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw and Radamel Falcao brought in over the summer, the question now remains as to how Louis van Gaal will fit everyone in?
Here, we have identified what we believe to be United’s best starting XI post deadline day.
