Is this player the natural heir to Diego Costa’s Chelsea throne?

The future is bright for the Chelsea faithful in the Football Transfer Tavern with this player in the pipeline…

Diego Costa has made an electric start to life this season, having bagged an incredible 5 goals in 5 appearances so far.

However, in an unexpected turn – the Blues front man has been outshined by one of his younger club mates…

18-year-old Tammy Abraham has been lighting fires in the English Football League so far this season, and has received the plaudits of everyone in the Football Transfer Tavern.

The youngster was sent out on loan to Bristol City earlier this year, with the Blues hoping that he would get some occasional game time over the course of the season.

In reality however, Abraham has exceeded the expectations of everyone in the Tavern, even at this early stage.

He has scored an incredible 9 goals so far this season – and an interesting stat coming from Twitter puts that wonderful record into perspective…

As detailed by OptaJoe, no player in the English Football League has scored more goals than Abraham so far this season. The Englishman is tied with Sergio Aguero on 9 so far; and many tout the Argentine as the best forward in the Premier League.

An unbelievable record!

With so much speculation in the Tavern touting Costa with a move away from the Bridge, combined with the Spaniard edging closer to 30-years-old – could Abraham find himself as the next Chelsea man in the number 9 hot seat?

Our landlord thinks Chelsea could have found their heir apparent to the prolific Spaniard…
