This is concerning the Southampton fans in the Football Transfer Tavern…
Southampton have made a good start to the 2016/17 season, with Claude Puel taking over the mantle impressively following the departure of Ronald Koeman over the summer.
The Saints have often impressed in recent years, but this season has seen the emergence of Dusan Tadic as a real star in their first team.
The Serbian international has been receiving a host of plaudits from the punters in the Football Transfer Tavern, and many have touted him as the man to lead Southampton into Europe this season.
However, it would appear that whilst Tadic is impressing; his work appears to be for nothing.
According to OptaJoe on Twitter, Tadic has created more chances without assisting than any other player in the Premier League – with a grand total of 31.

On a basic level, this means that Tadic is proving to be a prolific pass master – and that can only be a good thing for Southampton.
However, on the contrary, it would seem to suggest that going forward – Southampton are struggling. They are proving to be very unsuccesful in front of goal, and whilst chances are being created – very few of them are actually being converted.
This came as a surprise to the Southampton fans in the Tavern, as many of them have been hugely impressed with Charlie Austin up-front this seaosn.
Our landlord thinks that this would suggest that Claude Puel desperately needs to invest in a few more prolific forwards that can actually start putting chances away.
