The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are always pretty mixed on their opinions of divisive Gunners ace Olivier Giroud…
The Frenchman has always been a pretty good goalscorer, but he has often blown hold and cold – with his inconsistency a real stinging point for the Gunners in the Tavern.
This season Giroud has scored 6 goals in the Premier League, despite only starting a limited number of games – but yet he is rarely ever considered one of the Premier League’s best. Whilst Diego Costa and Harry Kane are often discussed as the most prolific in the Premier League, Olivier Giroud is never mentioned – and is that unfair on the Frenchman?
Well, according to OptaJoe on Twitter – it is. As posted on their official Twitter page, Olivier Giroud has averaged a league goal every 73 minutes in the Premier League this season – which they note is the best record in the Premier League…
73 – Olivier Giroud has averaged a league goal every 73 minutes this season, the best ratio in the Premier League. Prolific. pic.twitter.com/ePixSF6VAD

This stat has seriously surprised a few of punters in the Transfer Tavern. A few of the Arsenal fans have even been calling for Giroud to be sold – but they have certainly quietened down now.
Our landlord thinks that this is a seriously good omen for Arsenal are they prepare to face Swansea City this weekend, with the Premier League’s deadliest forward likely to be involved in the game.
Could he get another goal, Arsenal fans?
