In the Transfer Tavern, the Chelsea fans leaning by the bar have been waxing lyrical about Diego Costa’s recent run of form…
The 2016/17 season for Chelsea so far has been nothing short of a revelation.
After finishing 10th last season, the Blues were expected to bounce back – but nobody was expecting this. Antonio Conte has led Chelsea to the top of the Premier League – and many in the Tavern are now touting them as firm favourites for the Premier League title.
Every single player has been impressing in recent weeks from defence to attack – but one man that has seemingly been at the centre of everything is Diego Costa.
The Spaniard has been in fine form all season – but just how impactful has he actually been?
Well, according to OptaJoe – very!
As per OptaJoe on Twitter, Diego Costa has been involved via a goal or an assist in all but TWO Premier League games this season – which would suggest that Costa is the man pulling all of the strings at Stamford Bridge this year.

Wow! Everyone in the Tavern knew that Costa had been influential this season – but this is another level.
Eden Hazard is often spoken about as the catalyst for attacks in the Chelsea first team, but our landlord thinks that this stat proves that it is Costa that is the man of the moment.
Chelsea fans – thoughts?
