As per usual when the PFA team of the year was announced, there were a few dissenting voices. How did Gary Cahill get in there? Where was Cesar Azpilicueta or Sergio Aguero? But there seems to be one inclusion that has stumped the Football Transfer Tavern and this viral image sums up our reaction to a tee.
Philippe Coutinho has been very special at times this season and scored a few cracking goals, but is nowhere near consistent enough to make the team of the year and we think should have missed out by a long shot – and after seeing this stat, that shows Tottenham Hotspur reject Paulinho has made assists more regularly than the Brazilian, we are simply baffled with the PFA.
Liverpool fans. Have a look at this shocking stat!
Paulinho (483 minutes) has averaged an assist more often than Coutinho (585.5 minutes) in the Premier League this season.
