Manchester City managed to put in a dominant performance yesterday evening in the fifth round of the FA Cup against Newport County, which has booked them a place in the quarter-final.
The Citizens will be desperate to secure at least one piece of silverware in the current campaign as they’re still in with a chance in the Premier League, Champions League, Carabao Cup and the FA Cup.
However, the Manchester club received a potentially huge boost on the transfer front recently, as according to AS (via Goal.com), Manchester City have been put on red alert by Isco’s possible availability.
Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari’s relationship with Isco has broken down completely.
Indeed, relations between the two have been tense ever since the player refused to shake his manager’s hand following a 3-0 defeat to Eibar in November.
So, Premier League sides Manchester City and Chelsea have been put on alert by the Spaniard’s possible availability.
Of course, the Citizens already have a number of attacking players but Isco could just be the perfect long-term replacement for David Silva, who isn’t getting any younger.
Isco, who is valued at £67.5 million (by Transfermarkt), has established himself as one of the world’s best attackers in recent years, so it would make sense for City to launch a summer move for him.
Indeed, Pep Guardiola doesn’t really need to strengthen his squad but Isco is worth pursuing if there’s a chance that he could rock up at the Etihad, as he’d take their attack up a level.
