Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been gathering dust on the sofas as they await confirmation of Jose Mourinho’s appointment at Old Trafford but they’ve at least been handed a new topic to discuss.
Metro quotes Bologna forward Mattia Destro has confirming he’d jump at the chance to join Mourinho’s revolution at Manchester United, having played under the Portuguese boss during his treble winning season at Inter Milan.
With United in the market for forwards this summer, Destro’s name has been mentioned and it’s an opportunity he’s certainly open too, as he said:
‘To be able to train with champions and with a coach like Mourinho made me mature and prepared me to make a giant step into real football. If he called me to Man United? I’d like to see myself in that situation.’
Whilst the links look good, our landlord feels United need a much more established forward and he believes they will scour the market for one.
United fans, would Destro be a good addition? Let us know in the comments below!
