Everton are once again looking like a solid team under new boss Marco Silva. They’re playing good football, churning out good results, fielding a strong starting XI, and giving out enough opportunities to youth players to have fans excited for the years to come.
Silva has brought in a number of fresh faces in an effort to wash away the dreary past of Everton’s short and extremely uneventful period under Sam Allardyce. Ex-Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain left-back Lucas Digne looks extremely promising, having been drafted in to take over from ageing Leighton Baines; Brazilian forward Richarlison is providing goals; Bernard is slowly showing why he’s always been linked to the Premier League and Kurt Zouma is providing greater defensive stability. Indeed, with three wins on the bounce under their belt and a trip up to Manchester United next, there’s no reason why Everton can’t keep pushing on in the league this season.
All in all, the players in this new-look Everton side look like they’re really enjoying their time at the club.
However, there are a couple that look a little aggrieved with their current individual situation…
Well, this one comes as no surprise to Everton fans, we’re sure. The car crash signing has barely left a mark on the Everton team since joining from Lokomotiv Moscow in 2016, and despite Silva committing himself to keeping hold of the Senegalese striker earlier this year, it seems he’s finally on his way out.
Niasse really looks like he’s giving it his all when he gets onto the pitch, which is commendable, but his quality – or lack of – is so far behind what is required in the Premier League. We’re sure that, since Marco Silva has failed to find a spot for him in the squad so far this season after his all assurances, the striker knows his time is up. Indeed, he probably wants the move himself.
The case that Ademola Lookman doesn’t seem to be that he doesn’t want to play for Everton. Of course, this is a sweeping statement, but he’s a young English player who’s representing one of the biggest clubs in the country in one of the greatest leagues in the world.
However, for the good of his career, it’s probably dawned on him that his future lays away from Everton. At least for the time being. Indeed, reports over the summer suggested that he did want to leave to go abroad, after all.
