Some incredible players have moved to Liverpool over the last few years, with owners the Fenway Sports Group (FSG) backing the club to the hilt. From Coutinho to Virgil van Dijk, many of the Premier League's best players have proven their worth in Liverpool red.

However, at present, one man is outshining them all - Liverpool's new goalkeeper Alisson.

It became clear over the summer that Liverpool needed a new goalkeeper, with neither Loris Karius or Simon Mignolet proving their worth at Anfield.

Up stepped, Alisson, then, and whilst he was an expensive purchase, he's proven to be worth every single penny.

Though the Liverpool man hasn't been void of any mistakes, it's fair to say that almost everything he's touched has turned to gold. He's added another layer to Liverpool's defensive qualities. It's never going to be easy playing for such a good team when you're between the sticks, as involvement is often limited until one crucial moment. Fortunately, Alisson has rarely let his concentration slip, and every time he's called upon he normally delivers.

Case in point, Liverpool's game against Napoli. The Reds were on course to win the game in the closing moments, when a set piece managed to creep through the defence, leaving Alisson as the last man standing. Valiantly, he got himself in the way of the ball, and he kept Liverpool ahead.

It's those moments that prove that Liverpool made the correct decision by bringing him in, and with every passing game, he's proving to be more important than anyone else at Liverpool - and anyone that's been there over the last few years.

With brilliant shot shopping, great agility and excellent quality with the ball at his feet, he's arguably the complete goalkeeper. This was clearly money well spent from FSG.
