Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that Jurgen Klopp can turn them into genuine title contenders next season. Indeed, some of the Reds’ play has been fantastic and they feel that just a few tweaks here and there could push them on to the next level.
The German, this season, has transformed Liverpool into one of the most dangerous and exciting teams to watch across Europe. However suspect the defence had been in the first half of the season, the attack has more than made up for it, especially with Player of the Year and Golden Boot winner Mo Salah in it.
Many of the regulars in the bar feel that a few key signings could really transform this current Liverpool side into world beaters. Still, alongside the incomings have to be outgoings, and Klopp has a few players now that he needs to get rid of in order for this team to progress further.
The majority of the bar staff are all in agreeance of who should go for good, and with that in mind, the landlord is taking a look at this one player to never play for the club again…
OUR VERDICT – Simon Mignolet
Simon Mignolet had been in a tussle with Loris Karius all season long, with Klopp seemingly not being able to make up his mind on a permanent fixture between the sticks. However, in recent times, it seems Karius is getting the nod ahead of his team-mate, showing signs of some decent displays
If Liverpool are to progress forward in the Premier League, they have to have a settled stopper and a level above what they currently have – which Mignolet is certainly not.
