Arsenal

It’s time for Arsenal and Jack Wilshere to part ways, here’s why..

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern love Jack Wilshere, but even they think it could be time for the Englishman to depart…

Arsenal and Jack Wilshere have become synonymous with each other, with the young midfielder coming through the developmental system at the Emirates – but at this point, they are better off apart.

Now, Wilshere is certainly good enough to play for Arsenal. He is one of England’s finest midfielders, and when he’s on form – there are few better players in Europe.

But at Bournemouth, Wilshere has found a new lease on life. He is revelling in his return to the spotlight, and it has made him a better player for it.

At Arsenal, Wilshere often faded into the background – and when he returned from injury he often found it difficult to find his way back into the first team. Arsenal’s midfield is littered with incredible quality, and Wilshere’s return to fitness was always made far more difficult by this.

Under Eddie Howe, Wilshere has not only been able to get fit, but he has been able to stay fit – and he looks all the better for it. He is finally looking good enough to spearhead a midfield, as we all thought he could as a teenager, and if he continues in that vein – he might become as impressive as we expected.

Returning to Arsenal would be a backwards step for Wilshere, as he would just become another face in a long line of talented midfielders. Will he really get in ahead of the likes of Xhaka, Coquelin or Cazorla? It seems unlikely.

In order to best progress, Wilshere needs to keep fit and play regularly – and Bournemouth is the perfect place for him to continue in that vein. Arsene Wenger will likely be keen to keep him, but it is time to put Wilshere first.
