Arsenal came back into some sort of form last weekend as they ground out 0-0 draw with in-form Chelsea to finally give Gunners fans some idea that the squad might just be together and able to dig in when necessary.
Manager Arsene Wenger has been under pressure once again, and our landlord here in the Tavern thinks that although the treatment of Wenger at times is harsh, there’s a few things he could do to help himself along the way.
One of those things he could look to do is begin starting big French striker Olivier Giroud, who so far has seen his game time limited as Danny Welbeck has hit form and new signing Alexandre Lacazette settles in.
However there is good cause to start the big striker, especially now with Welbeck out injured once more for the foreseeable future.
Giroud offers the Gunners the one option they currently lack, as his height and strength gives them a different option going forward and allows them to change their gameplan if needed. Not only that, but like many big strikers, he can assist with defending corners and set pieces, something which can be the difference between picking up points in the Premier League.
Giroud’s proved he will score goals when given the chance and often comes off the bench to massive effect. It’s time he was given his chance from the start to help fire Arsenal up the Premier League table.
Gunners fans, what do you think? Play Giroud? Let us know!
