Chelsea played out a thrilling 3-3 draw this past week with Italian giants Roma, and manager Antonio Conte will no doubt be pleased to get back to the bread and butter of the Premier League this weekend.
A game against an in form Watford awaits for the Blues, and our landlord here in the Tavern thinks it could be time for the Blues to start playing one of their summer signings on a more regular basis.
That player is Italian defender and flying wing back Davide Zappacosta, who came on in midweek to deliver an impressive enough performance down the right hand side.
Having scored a stunning goal on his Chelsea debut last month, he has failed to tie down a regular place in the the line up under Conte, with Victor Moses often retaining his place following an impressive season last year and a good start this time around.
Zappacosta though at times appears to have that bit of extra quality that Chelsea perhaps miss at times down that side, and it could well be time for the summer signing to be given an extended run in the team.
At 25, Zappacosta has time on his side to be able to build a legacy down the right hand side for the Blues in a similar vein to that of former defender Branislav Ivanovic, and if he can have the success of Ivanovic, then he will have done a good job indeed.
He’s a player with bags of quality, and a run in the team can only further improve and enhance his glowing talent.
Chelsea fans, what do you think? Would you drop Moses for him? Let us know!
