Chelsea are once again in and among the mix of contenders to win the Premier League this season, as their Italian manager Antonio Conte looks to lead the Blues to consecutive titles in England.
The Blues are always a club who go big in the transfer market, and this summer was no different for the Londoners, with the club spending big sums on the likes of Alvaro Morata and Davide Zappacosta.
However, our landlord here at the Tavern thinks the Blues could do with curbing that spending, and with a reputation building as a club who let young players slip through their fingers, he thinks it’s time the club looked closer to home for the second half of the season and gave young midfielder Charly Musonda more of a chance.
The 21-year-old has already made some waves this season and delivered some decent performances off the bench and when given the chance from the start in the first team.
Musonda looks to be a player of immense quality though despite his rawness and young age, and manager Conte could do far worse than play him more often going into the second half of the Premier League campaign.
The likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Mo Salah have all slipped through the net at the Bridge in recent years, and the Blues will be keen to avoid a similar situation with Musonda, who will no doubt look to move himself on if he is not given the opportunities under Conte.
Blues fans, what do you make of Musonda? Good player or not quite ready? Let us know in the comments!
