The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for Daniel Sturridge to get back to his best. The Englishman has been out of sorts since Jurgen Klopp moved to the club, with injuries and a lack of form really hurting his prospects under the German.
It was no real surprise, then, when reports emerged via the Mirror suggesting that he could look to leave the club in January in an effort to get regular first-team football. With the World Cup on the horizon, he clearly wants to be on that plane, yet that seems unlikely given his lack of game time at present.
For the fans in the pub, though, it’s too soon to give up on him. They think that he’s still a very good player, and they even think that just one more chance could see him rise to the occasion and force his way back into Jurgen Klopp’s plans. There could be a decent opportunity for him to get that chance, too, with the Reds set to take on Sevilla in the Champions League this week. The game could represent a great opportunity for him to get the chance that he craves.
He’s proven in the past that he can score goals when given the opportunity, and Sevilla won’t be able to cope if he’s on form. Should he start? Let us know by voting below!
