Liverpool stuttered again in midweek, drawing away at Moscow as their Champions League campaign begins to be a slow burner.
This weekend sees them return to Premier League action and manager Jurgen Klopp will be hoping for an improved performance from his charges as he looks to get them back to winning ways in the league.
The Reds have been playing some excellent attacking football this season, but our landlord here at the Tavern still thinks that there’s work to be done defensively, both at the back, and in protecting them in midfield.
One player he thinks it could be time for Liverpool to drop is England man Jordan Henderson, who has delivered one or two inept performances this term which largely seem to go unnoticed.
Klopp has other options at his disposal in terms midfield options with the like of new signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and youngster Marko Grujic.
Either one of these players could come in and do a job for Liverpool in the middle, while James Milner is also an option who could surely perform better than Henderson in the main.
Klopp has stuck by Henderson for quite a while now, but it could well be time for a change in the middle of the park for Liverpool if they are to truly compete for the Premier League title and put on a better show in the Champions League.
