Liverpool continue to chug along in the Premier League and it’s very much a case of deja vu in terms of their form, with the club already looking out of the title race and defensive frailties once again coming to the fore for Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds and their German manager will be keen to see an improvement and a run of consistent form now the international breaks are out of the way, and our punters here in the Tavern think the Anfield club are well capable of stringing the wins together over the winter.
However, our landlord thinks Liverpool have got some work to do in January, and one thing he thinks they should be doing is finally moving on injury prone striker Daniel Sturridge.
The England man has been a shadow of the player he was during his time under former manager Brendan Rodgers, as injuries and a lack of form when fit have seemingly robbed him of a key stage of his career.
There’s definitely some talent in there, it’s just a case of keeping Sturridge fit, but with Liverpool challenging on all fronts and now back in Europe, the club can ill afford to be carrying baggage, and unfortunately Sturridge is falling into this category.
Liverpool could still command a decent fee for the England man, while a move away could really give his career a much needed boost. A move could well be best for all parties, and it would be little surprise to see the former Man City and Chelsea man moved on before we see the end of the season.
Liverpool fans, what do you think? Time for Sturridge to move on? Let us know in the comments!
