Manchester City fans won’t accept anything less than the Premier League title in the current campaign as there’s nothing supporters would hate more than seeing Liverpool celebrate.
The Citizens are in a very promising position which can be put down to the excellence of a number of thriving players at the Etihad this season. Indeed, the likes of Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero have been the standout performers, but a number of other players have made healthy contributions.
Interestingly, Daily Mail journalist Jack Gaughan named Bernardo Silva as his pick for the Premier League’s most underrated player, as he stated that the Portugal international has ‘real quality’.
‘Granted, Silva simply cannot fly under the radar with those outside of City for much longer but he is still the unsung hero for now. Tireless runner as well as possessing real quality.’
Sadly, one of the main reasons behind Silva being viewed as an unsung hero is the fact that he’s been stuck in Raheem Sterling’s shadow, as they both operate in similar positions and the Englishman is in the form of his life.
Indeed, City fans will agree that Silva would be receiving all the praise if Sterling wasn’t having such a fantastic season at the Etihad, with the fact that he’s English creating even more excitement.
Silva has produced an incredible 10 goals and 11 assists in all competitions this season, so he deserves a lot more credit as he’s played a huge part in City’s push for silverware both in Europe and domestically.
Manchester City fans, would you say Sterling is a big reason behind Silva’s performances going under the radar? Join the discussion by commenting below!
