West Ham United finally managed to end their disastrous start to the Premier League season with a 3-1 victory against Everton on Sunday.
Manuel Pellegrini watched his side take all three points from Goodison Park via a brace from Andriy Yarmolenko, with Marko Arnautovic also netting.
However, it appears that there may be some concern regarding another of their summer signings, with claims that he could be missing for a significant period of the season.
According to a report by Claret and Hugh, who are a reliable source of information concerning all things on the Hammers, Jack Wilshere could require surgery on the recent ankle injury he picked up in training.
A source stated: “Although no final decision has been made until the results of the scan are known, the rumours that he faces more surgery on his ankle and could be out for three months could turn out to be true.”
This will be just the latest blow to Wilshere if he were indeed to be sidelined for another significant period of time.
The former Arsenal midfielder has been troubled with ankle problems and has yet to reach the level that many had expected from him after making such an impact with the Gunners at a young age.
If the midfielder is to have to sit out of action for three months or so, it would also come as a blow to the Hammers as they already have the likes of Andy Carroll, Winston Reid and Manuel Lanzini on their long-term injury list.
