West Ham United beat Cardiff City on Tuesday night to record back-to-back victories in the Premier League.
Lucas Perez hit a brace, however, fans will have noticed something else on the night.
Jack Wilshere was absent from the squad at the London Stadium on Tuesday, with many expecting to see him be involved after a lengthy lay-off with an ankle injury.
The Chilean stated that the summer-signing had been absent from the game against Cardiff with another ankle injury, this time within his ‘good’ ankle.
Pellegrini did state that it was just a ‘small pain’ and that he ‘did not want to take the risk with him’, however, it will be concerning for fans that Wilshere missed yet another game for the Hammers.
Wilshere has picked up a reputation of being injury-prone and would have been looking to resurrect his career at the London Stadium following his move from Arsenal in the summer.
However, things could not have gone any worse for him as he has had to miss a lot of action and spend a significant amount of time on the sidelines.
Fans will be hoping his latest injury is just ‘a small pain’ and will be available in the very near future as games come thick and fast, with their injury list, with the midfield in particular, looking a little too big for their liking.
