Newcastle United will be looking for their first win of the Premier League season when they meet Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The Magpies will travel to Selhurst Park and Rafa Benitez will be determined for his side to pick up the three points, however, the match could be made even tougher with one key man being made doubtful for the game.
A report by football.london has revealed that there are concerns over whether Jamaal Lascelles will be able to feature for Newcastle after he had to limp off during the defeat to Arsenal with an ankle injury.
“He twisted his ankle, so now we have to assess and decide,” Benitez told football.london.
Newcastle will be hoping that their skipper is not out for too long, should he require an extended time on the sidelines following a recent spell out of the team through injury.
Lascelles is an important player for Benitez’s side and his absence will certainly be missed should he be forced to sit out of the trip to Selhurst Park.
Premier League fixtures are starting to come thick and fast for clubs up and down the country and things do not get easier for Newcastle in the coming weeks.
The Magpies will face Leicester City and Manchester United once they play Crystal Palace and the Spaniard will be hoping his captain will be fit for as many of those games as possible.
