James Milner could be out of action for a month

Liverpool could be without one of their key players for a significant period of time.

According to The Daily Mail, James Milner could be set to spend around a month on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury.

The influential man picked up the problem in the first half of their goalless draw against Manchester City at the weekend and could now miss around four games, with the away trip to Arsenal a real doubt.

Miler is thought to have suffered a minor tear to his hamstring, meaning it is very unlikely he will play for the remainder of October.

Jurgen Klopp will have been concerned that the injury could have been more significant, however, if there ever was a great time, now would be considered to be one.

With the international break now upon us, Liverpool do not return to action until two Saturday’s time, when they travel to The John Smith’s Stadium to face Huddersfield Town.

The Verdict:

Liverpool will have been disappointed to have seen Milner be ruled out for potentially a month with this setback.

The vice-captain has been a key player for Klopp’s side in recent seasons and his absence will clearly be felt.

However, although there are no easy games, the trio of Huddersfield, Red Star Belgrade and Cardiff City are tests that Liverpool will feel they should get past and will be keen for Milner to make a return against Arsenal at the beginning of November.
