Our resident Watford supporters in the Transfer Tavern are intrigued at the potential arrival of Gothenburg’s Pontus Dahlberg.
Indeed, according to Sky Sports, the Hornets are closing in on the signing of Pontus Dahlberg from Swedish side, Gothenburg, for a fee of £3.5M. The 19-year-old has allegedly undertaken his medical at Watford ahead of a proposed move. However, budding Watford fans might have to wait to see their shot-stopper in action as he’s poised to leave on loan for the remainder of the season.
Dahlberg has registered one cap for Sweden, and he’s made 61 senior appearances at club level.
Given Dalhberg’s age, it is clear that the player is endowed with great potential. While considering the current state of the market, £3.5M is a relatively small price to pay for a new arrival which indicates this also is a shrewd financial investment. If he fails to make an impression, it’s likely that the Hornets will be able to recoup his fee.
