Celtic supporters have been in high spirits in the Transfer Tavern in the last few hours after seeing their side breezed past Hamilton 3-1 at Celtic Park on Wednesday night to maintain their five-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Brendan Rodgers’ men had seen their lead cut at the top last weekend following their draw with Hibernian alongside victories for both Aberdeen and Rangers, yet retained their advantage on Wednesday night with three points against Martin Canning’s side. Oliver Ntcham gave the hosts an early lead before Danny Redmond equalised for the Accies, yet that only seemed to spurs the Bhoys on as unanswered first half strikes from James Forrest and Scott Sinclair secured a comfortable victory for the Scottish giants.
Consequently, there have been many buoyant Celtic fans in the Tavern in recent times, several of whom are likely to be intrigued by a potentially promising report from The Daily Telegraph, which suggests that reported Bhoys target Charly Musonda ‘could’ be available for loan in January.
The 21-year-old currently plays his trade at Premier League champions Chelsea and only signed a new deal at Stamford Bridge last week, but he has only appeared five times for Antonio Conte’s first team this term, just two of which have come in the league.
As such, the Belgium Under-21 international could be on the lookout for a loan move in January, and recent reports suggest that he ‘could’ be close to a move as the Blues have reportedly launched a bid for Bayer Leverkusen’s Leon Bailey, thus seeking to get the replacement the club want to allow Musonda a loan move.
And with Celtic reportedly interested in the 21-year-old over the summer, the Bhoys could well make a move for the youngster in January.
Landlord’s verdict: Like so many youngsters at Chelsea, Charly Musonda has failed to earn regular first team football under Antonio Conte, with just two Premier League appearances to his name this season.
As such, a loan move could well be in the offing for the 21-year-old in January, as reports suggest that that has taken a step closer as the Blues have reportedly launched a bid for Bayer Leverkusen’s Leon Bailey, perhaps as the replacement the club want to allow Musonda a move in the New Year.
And this could be potentially good news for Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic, who expressed a clear interest in the Chelsea man over the summer, and could well seek to reignite their interest in January given these latest developments.
