Chelsea continue to plunder along in the Premier League and this week earned a creditable draw against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League to round out their group stage campaign and progress smoothly into the knockout stages.
The Blues and manager Antonio Conte are looking to win back to back league titles, but with Man City romping clear, that looks a fair distance away at the moment, and Conte might well have to make to do with a top four spot and a summer rebuild.
However, January is just around the corner, and with Chelsea always being mentioned in terms of players coming in, our landlord here at the Tavern thinks that the club should be looking to move on or two players on before they bring new ones in.
One such player who he thinks they should cut their losses with is midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, who since making his move from Monaco in the summer appears to have struggled to adapt to the English game and cannot hold a place down in the Blues’ line up.
A big money buy, Bakayoko would still at this point command a decent enough fee if he was to be sold on, and there would no doubt be plenty of clubs, including his former club Monaco, who would no doubt take him back.
If Chelsea are serious about progressing, moving Bakayoko on and bringing in someone of higher quality could well be top of their agenda.
Blues fans, what do you think to this? Would you move Bakayoko on? Let us know!
