According to The Mirror, Fabio Sturgeon is on Liverpool’s radar after the Merseyside club scouted the 20-year-old several times this season ahead of potentially snapping him up in January.
He is valued at £2.4 million by his current club and another aspect to add to Brendan Rodgers’ incentive to sign him is that is he eligible to play for England as his father is English.
Liverpool will face competition for his signature from Portuguese giants Benfica, but luckily for the Reds, with his English links, he would reportedly prefer a move to the Premier League.
Sturgeon has always been highly thought of at his current club Belenenses after he began training with the first team at the age of just 17-years-old.
And within three years he has developed into a fine footballer and has gone onto make 24 appearances for the club, featuring regularly for Portugal’s Under-20 side to boot.
Punters in the tavern believe Rodgers could be onto a real winner with this hot prospect which is why Liverpool still have active scouts watching him in Portugal as the January transfer window edges ever closer.
