West Ham United are thought to be actively looking for a new striker in January as Manuel Pellegrini continues to reshape his squad.
The Hammers already have the likes of Marko Arnautovic, Javier Hernandez, Lucas Perez and Andy Carroll to lead the line, however, it appears that one of those men could be about to leave the London Stadium.
It is understood that those talks are progressing in a positive fashion, with the Istanbul outfit keen on taking Chicharito on a loan deal for the second half of the season.
And, it is believed a move is ‘very likely’, as long as West Ham do not take a ‘hard stance’ about the situation.
The Mexican has struggled to get game-time under Pellegrini this season, however, he did find the back of the net against Burnley last weekend, so may start to force his way into the first-team on a regular basis.
It remains to be seen what stance the Hammers take on a possible move but West Ham will likely need to have another striker in place before considering to allow Hernandez to leave.
Whether the Irons will want to lose Chicharito on a temporary deal, or would rather offload him permanently could be what makes a deal harder for Besiktas to complete.
