The Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern have been looking into Lyon’s loanee star, Tanguy Ndombele. According to L’Equipe though, he could be making two moves in one window as Spurs have been negotiating a deal with Lyon for the player who is yet to sign him on an 8 million deal they agreed with Amiens last summer, with Ndombele spending the last season on loan at the Groupama Stadium.

Tottenham will be scouring the transfer market for a suitable Mousa Dembele replacement this summer should the Belgian international decide that his future should be away from North London. However, Spurs could have already found the perfect replacement for Dembele in a player who shares a very similar name, Ndombele. The Spurs fans could even use the chant they came up with for the Belgian with the young Lyon man if he does make the trip from Lyon to London, although there is a lot that would have to happen before the Spurs fans can sing his name.
In today’s market, a fee of around 40 million euros is not what it used to be and Mauricio Pochettino would be more than happy to part with that if it meant he could have one of Europe’s finest young midfielders at his disposal next season. At the age of just 21, there’s plenty of time for Ndombele to forge a career for himself and if he does manage to reach the potential that many believe he will, then 40 million euros will look like a steal. Unfortunately for Tottenham though, there’s no doubting that other clubs will be monitoring his progress.

He’s more a Jay Jay Okocha type player. Which is surely not a bad thing COYS

Lyon's Chairman is a Levy level business negotiator. Would be very surprised to see this happen. It's too early. He'd rather keep him and sell him for massive profit in a few years

Just putting it out there but shouldn’t we maybe stop singing people that sound like ‘dembele’

Whilst some Spurs fans are cautious over signing such a young player from Ligue 1, the fans that have seen him play have no doubt that Tanguy Ndombele could be the next big star in N17.
