Rangers currently find themselves firmly in the race for the Scottish Premiership title after their recent Old Firm victory.
The Bluenoses will set their sights on securing at least one piece of silverware in the current campaign, but this may only be achieved if they manage to strengthen this month. It looks as if that’s exactly what Rangers have done, as according to Rangers’ official website, Jermain Defoe has joined on an 18-month loan deal.
Rangers have secured the services of Jermain Defoe on an 18-month loan deal.
Indeed, the Englishman struggled to work his way into Eddie Howe’s plans at the Vitality Stadium during the first half of the season, so it comes as no surprise that Rangers have wasted no time in bringing him to Scotland.
Alfredo Morelos hasn’t been provided with enough support at the pinnacle of the attack so far this season, but Defoe will be sure to lighten the load on his shoulders as an accomplished finisher.
The veteran could do an excellent job in the Scottish Premiership, so Steven Gerrard will be delighted to have secured his services for the remainder of this season and the next.
Indeed, Morelos won’t have to worry about a lack of support anymore as Defoe has the ability to score bags of goals.
