‘Jody Morris for senior team’ – Chelsea fans on Twitter loving success of their youth side

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to Jody Morris’ tweet, thanking the Chelsea fans for their support of the club’s U18 side yesterday. The young Blues won the quadruple this season and were brought out at Stamford Bridge at half-time yesterday during the club’s 1-1 draw with Huddersfield, leading to Morris’ thank you Tweet for the fans.

The Chelsea U18 side have won almost every trophy available to them this season. Jody Morris’ side have conquered every domestic competition they’ve played in, winning the FA Youth Cup, the U18 Premier League Southern title, the U18 Premier League Cup and the U18 Premier League national final. The only competition that the pint-sized Blues failed to win was the UEFA Youth League, where they fell 3-0 to Barcelona in the final last April.

The young Blues will likely all make their names in football and they’ve started in the right way with their trophy cabinets already being filled in just one season at youth level. The fans will be looking forward to seeing some of the young stars eventually being integrated into the first-team when the time is right. Until then the youngsters will be put through their paces in the different youth sides throughout Chelsea’s academy system.
