Tottenham Hotspur have surprised everyone for all the wrong reasons in recent times as their collapse in the Premier League has the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Man United licking their lips.
Spurs remain in a promising position in the race for a top four spot but they’re certainly making life difficult for themselves, and their recent form certainly won’t help as they prepare to move into their new stadium.
Although, one other worry for fans in recent times has been the future of Christian Eriksen as nobody quite knows what could happen in the summer transfer window.
But, Daily Mail journalist Joe Bernstein may just have the answer as he’s claimed that James Maddison is good enough to replace Eriksen at Spurs. And, he also believes that both Leicester and Spurs could make £50 million.
‘Even at the age of just 20 he is good enough to replace Christian Eriksen at Spurs – and both clubs could make £50million on the deals.’
James Maddison has been simply sensational this season in what is his first season in the Premier League with Leicester City after moving to the King Power Stadium back in the summer transfer window. He’s managed to produce an impressive six goals and six assists, so it’s clear to see that he can handle the pressure.
The Dane being sold and bringing in Maddison could work well for Spurs as both players would inevitably fetch a big fee, just like Joe stated above, so it’s definitely something Daniel Levy should think about.
Indeed, the Leicester City man, who is valued at £27 million (by Transfermarkt), has all the makings to become a future star on the international stage and in Europe, which could benefit Spurs in the long-term.
Although, Spurs fans won’t want to see the back of Eriksen, especially with the new stadium now ready, as he could play a huge part in the future of the club as one of the world’s best attacking midfielders.
