Nottingham Forest have been one of the standout performers in the Championship this season, with a play-off spot firmly within their grasp.
Forest put in a very convincing display against Nottingham Forest not so long ago, which caught the eye for a number of reasons. Joe Lolley was the star of the show as he managed to score a wonder strike and provided four assists in a 5-5 draw against Aston Villa away from home.
However, it now appears as if a couple of Premier League clubs have joined the race to sign him, as according to The Mirror (via Nottinghamshire Live), Fulham and Newcastle United are weighing up bids for Joe Lolley.
Watford, Cardiff and West Bromwich Albion were quickly linked with Lolley in the aftermath of the midweek thriller.
And, now Premier League duo Newcastle United and Fulham are understood to be weighing up bids for the 26-year-old ahead of the January transfer window.
Despite all of the interest, Nottingham Forest boss Aitor Karanka had this to say on the winger’s future:
“No, because now he is very good but football can change a lot,”
“All of them are, but Joe is one of those who was desperate to come here. He is showing that he is enjoying it a lot.
“He had a chance maybe, or there were rumours, at the beginning of the season and he said he wanted to stay here because he came here to be successful – and he’s being successful.”
Joe Lolley has been one of the standout performers for Nottingham Forest in the current campaign and will play a huge part in their promotion push if he stays in January.
The winger faces an uncertain future at the City Ground as he could be lured into moving to the Premier League, with the likes of Newcastle United, Cardiff City and Fulham all keeping an eye on him.
Supporters will be hoping that Karanka can fend off any advances for Forest’s star man.
