The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a story in The Mirror that claims Everton have joined both Tottenham and Chelsea in the hunt for their club’s centre-back, Jamaal Lascelles. The Magpies skipper has been in great form this season and has been of the main reasons that the club has managed to reach the top-half of the table in the current campaign.
Everton are lining up a £25million move for Newcastle skipper Jamaal Lascelles. The 24-year-old, who has also been watched by Chelsea and Tottenham, is tied to Newcastle until 2023 after signing a new six-year deal in October. [Mirror] #NUFC

Whilst there’s no doubting Lascelles’ ability, the Newcastle fans believe they can hold off interest from the top clubs to keep their loyal captain at St James Park. The 24-year-old could be given a shock call-up to the World Cup squad in around a months time and it would be fully deserved on merit, given the payer’s incredible form holding up Newcastle’s backline alongside Florian Lejeune.
Chelsea and Tottenham have been in for the centre-back, who has a contract at Newcastle until 2023 for a number of months. Although now Sam Allardyce’s Everton have entered the fray and could be set to splash out £25 million for the services of the defender, similar to the way Ronald Koeman opened up the Toffee’s chequebook to bring in Burnley’s Michael Keane for a very large fee.

How much did they pay for Keane?
25 million for Lascelles is no where near enough to be talked about nevermind considered.
