As Martin Jol continues to bolster his options amongst his squad, Mirror Football has reported he has turned his attention towards Parma’s right back, Cristian Zaccardo.
The new gaffer is ready to bring the Italian International to Craven cottage for a cut-down price of £2m.
The World cup winner would certainly bring experience into the dressing room.
He was part of the highly successful Italy squad of 2006, playing his part making three appearances helping his country becoming crown champions, and also made 15 appearances for Wolfsburg during the 08/09 campaign where they went on to clinch the Bundesliga title.
The Mirror has also pointed out Jol faces competition from various clubs in Serie A and in Germany, the only two countries Zaccardo has plied his trade.
At the age of 29, maybe the 6ft plus defender would relish a new challenge, and with European football on offer West London could prove the perfect destination… We shall see.
