Jose Mourinho casts doubt over move for Premier League star – Report

Manchester United fans here in the Tavern are desperate for their side to improve on this season’s performances, as they failed to challenge for the title in what was a rather unconvincing campaign.

The Red Devils will be looking to bolster their squad in the summer transfer window as preparations will begin for next season, with many of our local Mancunians hoping for at least one piece of silverware. However, manager Jose Mourinho appears to be playing down a potential summer move, as according to an interview with ESPN, Mourinho doubts that Chelsea would sell Willian to one of their Premier League rivals.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has suggested that he’d like a Brazilian in his squad at Manchester United, but doubts that Chelsea ace Willian will be allowed to make the switch.

Interestingly, the Portuguese manager had this to say:

“I worked with Brazilian players in every team I coached, and I enjoyed [them] a lot, everything they can give and also every problem they can create!

“But honestly, I enjoyed a lot, and who knows we can have a Brazilian in the squad next year.

“I don’t believe it will be Willian, because Chelsea won’t make it possible.”

Landlord’s Verdict:

Willian has lost his way under Antonio Conte in the current campaign as a summer transfer window exit could be in the offing, but it’s unlikely that the Blues will want to sell him to one of their rivals. Indeed, Mourinho’s comments have disappointed many of our local residents, as they would of loved to have seen the 29-year-old at Old Trafford.
