Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was given a reprieve this weekend as his side completed a memorable comeback win against Newcastle United.

The Red Devils were rescued by a late Alexis Sanchez winner as they came from two behind, and Mourinho will be keen to spend time in the international break looking at his team and planning how they can build on the result upon his squads return to Premier League action.

Mourinho's signings - or lack of this summer - are often under the spotlight at the moment, and we at the Tavern think that defender Victor Lindelof is someone who Mourinho should cut his losses with and move away from the club in the January window.

The Swedish defender just does not look up to performing at Premier League level for a club the size of United, and seems on edge throughout most of his performances in a red shirt.

Still valued at £25m by Transfermarkt, it would not be the worst decision in the world if United were to move Lindelof on already.

It seems inevitable that the club will make a move for a centre half in January anyway, and moving on someone they already have on the books taking up that position would be a wise move.

Sadly sometimes things just do not work out for players when they get a big move, and this would appear to be a firm case of this sort of scenario.

Man U fans, what do you think? Would you sell Lindelof? Let us know in the comments!
