Shockwaves have swept through the Transfer Tavern this afternoon after reports broke that Chelsea had finally parted ways with under-fire manager Jose Mourinho.
Speculation has been rife regarding the manager’s future this week after a ninth defeat of the Premier League season against Leicester City on Sunday night; and now a BBC journalist has reported that the axe has been swung.

Chelsea have been woeful this season, currently sitting one point above the relegation zone after 16 games paid- and they could find themselves in the bottom three this weekend if results go against them.
Mourinho has been under intense criticism this season, with controversy surrounding his behaviour after a high-profile bust-up with physic Eva Carneiro and a wealth of charges following comments directed towards Premier League officials.
