Journalist: This is why Arsenal didn’t try and sign midfield maestro

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern can’t quite believe what they are hearing…

According to French football writer Julien Laurens, who was speaking to the BBC, Arsenal missed out on the chance of signing N’Golo Kante – because he reportedly didn’t have ‘enough’ to make a real impact in the Arsenal first team.

Of course, this decision came long before his glory with Leicester City and Chelsea, but the Gunners in the pub aren’t letting their side get off that easily. After all, a player like N’Golo Kante is exactly what Arsenal have needed for so long.

The accomplishments of N’Golo Kante since that point speak for themselves. He has already secured a Premier League trophy, and another is likely to come his way at the end of this season. Alongside Nemanja Matic, Kante has formed one-half of what is arguably the best midfield in the Premier League.

Conversely, Arsenal have struggled in the middle-of-the-park – leaving the Gunners in the Transfer Tavern in a very sombre mood.
